Light poles, lightning rods

Description

Light pole is intended for illumination and lightning protection of open sports facilities, power substations, sites of manufacturing and producing companies, warehouse bases, airports, railway transport hubs, sea and river ports. The light pole with a lightning rod is often a component of a group of buildings of a large trade center or a mall, auocenter or parking lot.

Lightning rod is a device which is mounted on buildings and facilities and used for protection against lightning stroke.

Lightning rod consists of three parts connected to each other

Interception rod is used for acceptance of lightning discharge and located in the zone of possible contact with lightning channel; depending on the protected object it can be a steel pin, grid from conductive material or metal cable over the protected object.

Earth conductor or conductor cable is a conductor used for leading-out the charge from the interception rod to ground terminal; it is usually a heavy wire.

Ground terminal is a conductor or several combined conductors which are connected with ground; it is usually a metal plate in ground.
